On
October 25th, I got a surprise in the mail. It was parcel from
Australia. In the parcel was a rugby league jersey
which I had won in a magazine competition about a month before. How I won the jersey
was by writing, in 25 words or less, who was the stand out player in week one
of the NRL finals series. My choice was Peter Hiku from Manly. I
chose Peter Hiku because of his 26 hit up and 297 metres gained. He was a late
call up for Brett Stewart and, in my opinion, was the player of the week. A
week later I saw my name, as winner, in the Rugby League magazine and was over
the moon about it. The Jersey is now one
of my most treasured items.Wednesday, November 6, 2013
