On October 7th I got a surprise birthday message from
the England Rugby Union. I wrote to them only a week ago, asking if they would
be kind enough to send me a card for my 35th birthday. On October 29th, they thanked me for my lovely letter and they passed on their best
wishes to me in Nelson. They hoped that the next time England came to N.Z.
that I would go to one of their matches. I also got a pen in the mail from them.
