On May 18th, I received a letter in the mail
from the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, John Bercow. I had written to him
on March 30th asking some questions such as what he liked about being the
Speaker of the House of Commons. His answer was 'acting as a champion for the backbenchers
of the House'. I have written to John Bercow a number of times including to
wish him a happy birthday. I think it is very good of the Speaker of the House
of Commons to take the time to write to someone who lives overseas. Mum was
also very impressed with the letter.
