I
am a big fan of NZ politics. I enjoy watching Parliamentary tv , writing to MPs
and collecting their business cards. I also like to meet members of parliament.
Most members are pretty approachable and are happy to answer questions and keep
in touch. New MPs that keep in touch
regularly are Simeon Brown and Hamish Walker from National and on the Labour
side Angie Warren Clark , Marja Lubeck and Jan Tinetti. At the moment I am very
interested in David Seymour's private members bill for the right to die when
you are terminally ill. I am in favour of the bill because I watched my father
die suffering for 6 weeks. He died of lung cancer in July 2016 after being
transferred to Christchurch then back to Nelson. But I do think that the Bill
needs some work on it.
