Nicky.

I first met Nicky in August 2010 when I took Michelle's dog, Jonah, up to Nicky's place. From day one Nicky was a really down to earth person. I remember Michelle telling me that Nicky's dog, Rosie, could talk and she could. I first took Rosie out in March 2011 and walked her part time for a while as Jonah was the top dog. I remember when Jonah wasn't there I took Rosie to Fairfield Park and Nicky was grateful. In March 2012 Rosie was clipped by a car. She was lucky to survive and Nicky was so reassuring that Rosie was going to be fine. Nicky was always very approachable and easy to talk to. She would laugh when I used to call Jonah 'Greg Inglis' and Rosie 'Robbie Farah'. In December 2015, Nicky was upset about my father's behaviour towards me and mum because I had this horrible black eye prior to Christmas and wanted dad out of the house. When dad was dying and was talking about having wheelchair ramps in the house, Nicky said she would talk to the Health Board about it. Nicky drew up a will for my father but he wouldn't sign it because he didn't like her. My father died in July 2016 but Nicky was great to my mum and I after he died. In August 2019 her beloved little dog Rosie died and before it happened, Nicky told me that I would continue to see Harvey. Then when Nicky was appointed as a Judge in Hamilton she also told me that I would continue to see Harvey and Harry. I look forward to continuing my friendship with Nicky and look forward to seeing her when she comes home to Nelson for holidays. I am going to miss the friendly face of Nicky. Thank you for your kindness. You are a wonderful person and I have been lucky to have you in my life.
