I was diagnosed with autism in July 2001. It was a huge relief for
me, finally knowing what the problem was. I was glad that I didn't
need medical treatment for my autism and I have been able to live with
it. I have become better at dealing with problems and I believe that when one
door closes another always opens. For example, in 2009, I remember a
beloved dog by the name of Rover who I walked Monday to Friday was moving to
Stoke and I would be only able to walk him once a week. I found another dog
called Jonah to walk in April 2009. Then, when Rover died in August 2010, I
found another new friend in Rosie. People with autism don't like certain foods
as the taste and smell can effect their mood. I don't like change much
and, sadly, the lady who owned Rover kept moving a lot and mum and dad were
worried about my well being. Being autistic I am good with facts and figures.
