Nelson College is the oldest college in New Zealand. It first opened in 1856. My father went there and I remember, 30 odd years ago, hearing about how third formers got rolled down the hill there. I never went to Nelson College. I went to Nayland College out in the suburb of Stoke. I don't think I would have done any better at Nelson College than I did at Nayland. School wasn't my thing and I wasn't diagnosed with autism until I was 20. Nelson College has produced a number All Blacks such as David Havill.
