On June 24th I met trade minister Damien O'Connor at the Nelson flea market. Surprisingly, he knew my name and he likes my letters. I have met him a number of times. He liked my jokes about Christopher Luxon where he will feed the North Island with a bucket of KFC and a loaf of bread. He laughed. I think Damien is a good minister and he has been a member of parliament since 1996. He was the Minister of Immigration under Helen Clark's government. He is the M.P. for West Coast Tasman.
