Cricket

On Wednesday February 20th, I went out to Saxton Field to watch a cricket match between Central Districts and Northern Districts. I had a great time meeting former Black Caps such as Jamie How  and Matthew Sinclair. I said to Jamie How that I remembered when he last played for New Zealand. It was in March 2011 against in Sri Lanka when he was dismissed by Umar Gul for four runs. He replied that was correct. I enjoyed watching the cricket despite it being a four day game and I learned   that being out in the fresh air for a long time makes you very tired and I learned that fast bowlers make 30 metre run ups. During the course of a four day match they would easily run over four kilometres on top of the distance they would run when fielding. I spent the first session there and will   do it again next year. The Saxton oval is a lovely ground to play Cricket.
