I reckon having the World Cup
Cricket in New Zealand and Australia has been awesome. It has been great that regions
like Nelson have hosted cricket games and that players who have come to Nelson
from all the international teams have mixed with locals and been happy to talk with
me about things which I know about them.
For example, on 4th March, I saw, former England opening batsman, Nick Knight
around town and I said to him "You're a commentator for B Sky B in the U.K
and he replied "You're on to it." I told him when his birthday was and
what county he played for. He was over the moon. I hope that, next summer, the
Black Caps can play an international here in Nelson because they get such big crowds and it is good for the region.
