World Cup Cricket.

On Feburary 14th, I was walking over the Haifax Street bridge. When, from a distance, I saw a World Cup Cricket bus by the Riverside pool. I ran over to it and I saw that the Irish cricket team were just about to leave the pool. I asked one of the players his name. He said it was John Mooney. I asked him if he could sign my bat and he replied "No problem." Then he asked me if I wanted to take it on the bus for more autographs. I spoke to another player, Ed Joyce. We talked about his involvement with the England team, in 2007, when they toured Australia and he told me I had a good memory before taking my note book onto the bus for more of the team to sign. It was truly awesome. Kevin O'Brien gave my bat back and I shook his hand and introduced myself.
The next day I saw the West Indies fielding coach, Andre Coley, and I asked him if he would be kind enough to take my other bat up to the  team hotel where I would pick it up after they had gone. He had no problem with that.
I also met and talked to Johan Clote, a South African umpire who umpired the Zimbabwe V UAE the game.
On Tuesday 17th Febuary, I met some of the UAE party. One them was the team physio, Chitrala Sudhakar. The other two were players. One was Amjad Ali and the other was Fahad Alhashmi. They were all very nice. On the19th, I went out to Saxton Field to watch the World Cup clash between Zimbabwe and UAE. The game was not a sell out but the atmosphere was good. It was a truly lovely day, a day I will never forget.

On Feburary 20th, I was walking around town and saw some Zimbabwe cricketers and support staff. They were Hamilton Masakadza, Tinashe Panyangara, Tawanda Mupariwa. The support staff included, physio, Anesu Mupotaringa, analyst, Stanley Choirza, fielding coach, Walter Chawaguta and bowling coach, Doug Hondo. They were really awesome.
