On
September 15, for the first time since 1998 the Springboks beat the All Blacks. It was in
Wellington and the score was 36 to 34. It was South Africa's first win in New
Zealand since 2009. I thought it was a really good game to watch and it was
good for the All Blacks because they will learn more from a loss than from a
win. It was the All Blacks first defeat since October 2017. The All Blacks accept
that they can't win all the time but the fans and the media go overboard and
expect the All Blacks to always win and often blame the referee for a loss. I
think they can still win the World Cup but are going to face tougher challenges
before then. Argentina, South Africa England and Ireland will be tougher in their
own countries.
