It
was a great thing for Nelson to be hosting the All Blacks for the first ever
time this week. I didn't go because it was too expensive but the All Blacks I
met were true gentlemen and very down to earth. The Nelson economy benefitted
by $9 million which included motels and hotels who had people coming from
around New Zealand and the world. The All Blacks won by 46 to 24 against
Argentina. There is talk that other sporting codes will consider playing in
Nelson in future. A certain cricket commentator whom I have mentioned before
says Nelson is not a very good sport venue. The All Blacks being here and
selling proved how wrong he was.
