At the end of last year my mum retired from the Cawthron Institute where she had worked since 1994. I remember when mum first started there as the tea lady. She was very good at the job and learnt how to do science work. People at the Cawthron were like a family to mum but in the end, during lockdown last year, she got tired and decided to retire.
